The Tear Drop Pendant

Chapter 2
A cold wind blew threw the street, litter got caught in an updraft and lifted into the air, sitting on a roof of a building, there was a young woman, her black hair blowing in the wind, she swatted it away from her face and let out a grunt of annoyance, she had been on her own for far to long, she had separated from her allies and was trying to locate her sister by herself, for her sister was the key to bringing back peace and Light to the world, she stood up and leapt from the roof flipping and landing on the sidewalk as she dug her hands into her coat and began walking.
Donya Davis woke up with a scream her eyes flashing with images that she couldn’t place, she thought they might have been from a film she had been watching, but they all seemed far to real, her hands were clammy. She rolled over and looked at the clock by her bedside and saw it was only 2:39am, sighing softly she swung her legs out of the hotel bed she was staying in and went into the bathroom where she turned on the light letting the soft hum of the light comfort her as she splashed water over her face looking into the mirror.
She shivered slightly, though whether it was from the cold or from something deeper she couldn’t tell, she ran a hand slowly through her hair as she let out another deep sigh, she turned off the light and headed back towards her bed sliding back under the sheets as she closed her eyes and drifted back off to sleep. A black shadow swept past her window, a pair of glowing yellow eyes appearing, the figure watched Donya for a few minutes as it swept past and moved onto the next window, the figure was searching for the girl who would lead the forces of Light, it hadn’t had any luck so far, it grunted with annoyance as it leapt backwards from the balcony and landed on the wet sidewalk, puddles splashing onto it’s boots, the figure despised the damp.
A few hours later, sunlight streamed into Donya’s room, she blinked her eyes open as she yawned softly stretching herself out, she swung her legs out of bed and adjusted her thigh length red nightdress, she heard a knock at the door of her room, she slid on a dressing gown and walked towards the door opening it up where a maid was standing with her breakfast, she thanked the young girl and took the tray into her room where she put it down on the table and lifted off the lid.
After she had showered and dressed, she picked up the key card to her hotel room before opening the door dressed in a tight fitting pair of jeans, a button up blouse and a two inch pair of heels, she headed down to the garage underneath the hotel and slid into her sleek red convertible, she then sped out and headed towards the city to do some shopping.
As she parked her car she slid out of it and locked it walking along the sidewalk as she saw a homeless person sitting in a little alcove, he looked up at Donya and said softly “Spare some change Miss” Donya looked at him and threw some coins to him, he laughed softly as he stood up his blanket falling away to reveal a disfigured body, with pus dripping from one eye, Donya took a step back as the person lunged at her, with surprising quickness. Donya let out a yelp as she somehow managed to dodge, she then seemed to draw on something deep within her as she grabbed the monsters arm and tossed him over her hip as she broke the creature’s arm making it howl in pain as Donya drove the heel of her shoe into the creatures throat making it explode and disappear.
Donya looked around to see if anyone else had witnessed what had just happened, but she saw no-one else around, she shook her head and sank down onto the ground and leant against the wall breathing heavily as standing on top of a building was Casey, she smiled softly knowing that this may well be her sister, nobody else had the fluid movement like her sister. She watched for a few more moments before running and leaping off the building and landing down an alleyway a plume of dust billowing up around her as she walked through it to where her sister was, Donya had stood up and dried her eyes with a tissue as she walked down the sidewalk away from the alley, Casey ran towards her as Donya spun around growling as she got into a fighting stance, something had been opened up in her now.
Donya growled a low feral sound as Casey stood her ground, Donya leapt at Casey and tackled her to the ground pinning her as Casey looked up at her before saying softly “Sister, be at peace, I mean you no harm, we have been looking for you for so long, and now we have finally found you” Donya looked at her quizzically a flicker of recognition passing through her eyes as she stood up slowly and held her head before speaking softly “I….I don’t know who I am….I cant remember anything of my life” Casey smiled softly at her and rested her hands on Donya’s shoulders saying in a soothing voice “Well how about we go to a café and we can talk about things and see if we cant help you get your memory back” Donya nodded her head as Casey took her hand and walked with her to find a café.
Casey held the door open to The Dragon’s Heart café for Donya as she went over to a table and sat down at it being joined by Donya who pushed a strand of hair out of her face looking at her sister as a waitress walked over to them and Casey ordered two coffee’s as Donya looked around her at the various other occupants of the Café, she saw a mixture of weird creatures, from werewolves to Vampires to Fairies and Otherkin. Casey cleared her throat before saying “Well sister, now that I have found you, I’m guessing you want to know what’s happened” Donya nodded her head slowly and met Casey’s eyes saying bolder then she actually felt “Yes I would, I wanna know what crazy shit is going on here, what the hell was I attacked by” Casey smirked softly as the waitress put their drinks on the table and turned around her tiger’s tail swaying softly.
Casey cleared her throat and spoke softly “You…you are not who you think you are….you are a great and powerful warrior, the thing that attacked you….was a Trilan demon, it disguises itself to lure it’s victims in and then devour them. Not many people live when they face them, but you dispatched it with ease” Donya rubbed her head softly taking this all in as she said softly “But what exactly am I then?” Casey took a sip of her coffee and swirled it around in her cup before answering “You are….an Angel and a vampire…a powerful mix….our Father was a fallen Angel, he fell in love with a Vampire, she was called Alexandria, but her clan wasn’t happy with this union, and sought out to destroy our parents, they escaped from them and hid until we were born” Donya sighed softly and nodded her head memories flowing back into her head as she gasped softly.
Casey flicked her head round towards the window as suddenly it shattered and two demons leapt into the café causing everyone there to scream as Casey drew a claymore and swung it around her head getting into a fighting position as the demons hissed at her looking past her at Donya. Casey snarled savagely as one of the demons leapt at her. She brought her sword upwards, driving her claymore into the demon’s throat, a shower of black blood flying out and coating Casey, she kicked the demon in the stomach sending it flying into a table.
The second demon flicked it’s long snakelike tongue out as it hissed softly and extended it’s claws and seemed to disappear as Casey looked around as Donya suddenly got thrown into the air and landed on the counter sliding into the cash register letting out a yelp of pain as a shimmering figure appear on top of her and raked it’s claws down her face making her scream out in pain.
Casey ran and leapt onto the counter and kicked the demon in the groin making it spin around as it flipped off of the counter and grabbed Casey’s legs and swept them out from under her making her land with a heavy crack on the counter her claymore clanging onto the floor as the demon let out a hissing laugh. Donya opened her eyes her vision swimming feeling her blood pounding in her ears as she rolled off the counter and looked at the demon saying in a soft weak voice “What….what do you want with me demon?” The demon looked at her quizzically before saying in a stilted voice as though he wasn’t used to speaking “We…were told to….find the…..leader of the Light…..and….kill her…or bring her to out Master” Donya laughed softly replying with more confidence then she felt “Your Master is weak, he will never rise again, this world will be purged of his darkness” the demon let out a low deep wail as it struck Donya in the chest before slamming her into a wall and head butting her.
Donya growled low in her throat and kneed the demon in the chest before smacking it across the face sending it sprawling onto the floor as Donya flipped over the demon and kicked it in the back sending it flying into the bar knocking itself out as Donya felt energy flowing through her. The demon roused itself slowly, getting to it’s feet as it suddenly found itself bound in a glowing purple energy field Donya walking towards it bathed in a brilliant white glow as she said in a powerful voice “I will destroy you, you will never harm another living soul again” she then clicked her fingers and the demon disappeared in a blaze of purple smoke.
Donya walked over to Casey and pulled her to her feet as Casey smiled softly saying in a weak voice “You did well Donya, you should be proud of yourself” Donya hugged her sister as Casey said “We should get moving, I’ll take you back to where I’m staying and we can plan our next move” Donya nodded her head as they left the restaurant. Casey looked up at one of the roofs and called out “Pardi'nae you can come down now my friend” a lithe cat-like figure jumped from the roof and landed in the alleyway, her tail curling around her leg as she looked at Donya, her deep golden eyes piercing through Donya as though looking into her soul, Pardi’nae purred softly saying “Greetings to you Mi’lady Donya, your sister has told me a lot about you” Donya blushed and replied “All good things I hope…not that I can remember very much about myself” Pardi’nae nodded her head as they headed down the alleyway with Casey leading the way.
Pardi’nae was different to anything Donya had ever seen before, she had brown fur with black specks dotted all over it, long wickedly sharp claws and pointed ears with white tufts on the tips, she was lithe and slim, built for stealth and speed, she was about 5ft7 in height, she had somewhat of an Amazonian quality surrounding her.
Donya looked at Casey before saying in a soft whisper “So exactly where are we going Casey?” Casey smiled softly replying “We’re heading towards one of the many bases we have scattered around the globe, two of your lieutenants are waiting for you inside, Ari White and Joel Dames, they may seem strange to you, Ari is a Devil and Joel is a full blooded Angel” Donya raised an eyebrow in surprise as she said “A devil….why would a devil ally herself with us?” Casey looked at her sister replying “We never really knew….but you always seemed to trust her and so the rest of us decided to as well” Donya nodded slowly as Pardi’nae stopped at a dead end.
Pardi’nae muttered some words that were in a dialect Donya couldn’t understand as a doorway suddenly appear in front of Pardi’nae, she let out a smile placing her hand on it as the door swung inward leading into a plush looking living area, Casey motioned for Donya to go inside which she did followed by her sister and by Pardi’nae. Donya let out a breath as she took in everything and everyone that was inside the room, they all stopped what they were doing as they turned towards her all letting out a cheer, as a few of them ran towards her and greeted her and shook her hand or hugged her. Casey chuckled softly as she ushered them away saying “Let the poor girl breath, it’s a lot for her to take in” the crowd all laughed with her as Donya swayed slightly feeling as though she might faint, from exhaustion or from all that had happened she didn’t know.
Pardi’nae took one of Donya’s arms as the young girl looked towards her with a nod of thanks, Pardi’nae guided Donya to a chair Donya sunk down into it as Casey brought her over a glass of water handing it to her Donya sipped it greedily as she closed her eyes. She opened her eyes suddenly as she heard the sounds of two people bickering, she looked around to see if she could see the source of it as she saw a young girl, her hair falling over her eyes with, the girl turned around and stalked towards her pulling the sleeves of her hooded jumper down over her hands as she stopped in front of Donya. The girls golden eyes seem to bore into Donya as she suddenly spoke in a soft tone “So, it’s true, they found you….interesting…I never thought they would. I’m sure they told you about me….I’m Ari….Ari White…my boyfriend should be around somewhere” Ari’s tail coiled itself around her leg as she pulled Donya to her feet and weaved through the crowd to find Joel.
Joel is hard to miss, his jet black hair visible as Ari rushes over to him and hugs him tightly before introducing Donya, Donya stood transfixed by Joel’s eyes a mixture of earth and sea rolled into one, his green eyes surrounded by a Caribbean sea blue ring, he nodded to her and spoke in a soft melodic voice “Tis good to see you again Donya, we have all missed you very much, I am just sorry we didn’t find you sooner….but now you are back, we have a leader again….we can finally all unite under one banner to destroy the foul darkness that has threatened our lands for to long” Donya stood looking flabbergasted before nodding her head and replying “I shall do all that I can to help….but….I don’t think I’m the best choice for a leader….I mean I can barely cope with myself” Joel chuckled softly and patted her hand replying “Don’t worry, we’ll help you get back to the leader you once were” Ari smiled at Donya as she gave Joel a peck on the cheek.
Joel gave Ari a smile and hugged her close as he took his steel rimmed designer glasses out of his jacket pocket sliding them on as he and Ari talked in hushed whispers, Donya smiled softly at the pair of them as she wandered through the crowd being greeted by various people, she needed to breath she felt claustrophobic, she walked towards a window and looked out of it breathing in the cool air, she felt a presence behind her, she turned and saw Casey who smiled softly at her before saying “How are you handling everything Don?” Donya studied her sister for a few minutes before letting out a soft sigh replying “I really don’t know, when I woke up, I was normal….or I thought I was….and now here I am being told I’m the leader of a rebellion and a mixture of an unholy union between a Vampire and an Angel” Casey laughed softly and hugged her sister.
Casey then stroked a strand of hair out of her sisters eyes as she said softly “You are a powerful leader, that’s why all these people are here…they trust in you….they know what you have done for them, and now they wish to follow you again” Donya shook her head trying to take everything in as she looked out of the window, Casey moved away from her leaving Donya alone to her thoughts. As the sun went down outside and the moon came out, the stars began to twinkle in the sky, Donya turned around feeling her stomach growl with hunger realising she hadn’t eaten since the café which seemed to be a lifetime ago she wandered through the living quarters and tried to find a kitchen area when Ari bounded up to her twirling a strand of hair in her fingers as she said “Can I help you with anything Donya?” Donya stared at the strange young girl, hardly believing she was a devil, she shook her hear realising Ari had asked her a question as she stuttered replying softly “Yes, I’m hungry I’m trying to find something to eat” Ari nodded and grabbed her hand leading her to the kitchen. Ari raided the fridge as she brought out some bread, some cheese and other various things as Donya looked around the kitchen before saying “So you must have to feed a lot of people huh?” Ari turned around and smiled at Donya before replying “Oh you know, we make do, but often we’re to busy fighting to really have time to eat….although we try to make time when we can” Donya nodded her head slowly as Ari handed her sandwich to her, Donya sat down at the table in the kitchen and began to eat it slowly.
Ari busied herself in the kitchen as Donya finished her sandwich and looked at Ari before saying “So….what was I like…..you know…..Before?” Ari turned to look at her and pushed her hair behind her ears before replying “You were, the most powerful and dangerous leaders of all time, you had just an energy about you that seemed to course through anyone that you met, you were magnificent and glorious, you and Casey were a formidable team, we all were and it was because of you, you made us better people” Donya chuckled softly as a blush crossed across her face.
Meanwhile in the war room Casey and Joel were standing over a table looking down at a map, the map seemed to be alive as various dots moved around it, they were blue and red, Casey looked up at Joel saying “Well, the enemy seems to be concentrated in the western half of the city, and they seem to have completely taken over the city of London, I don’t know for what reason, but….it seems we may have to make our move sometime soon” Joel nodded as he replied “Aye, I agree and we may well have to leave this base soon, we don’t know how long we have before we get compromised” Casey nodded her head as she sighed softly running a hand through her hair.
Joel looked at Casey saying softly “Your doing the best you can….we all appreciate it…stop being so hard on yourself, you found Donya, and now we will be able to move forward and break through the fog that clouds her mind” Casey’s shoulders sagged slightly as she muttered softly “But what if we cant? What if the fog stays around her? How will we find the pendant then?” Joel nodded softly and turned leaving the room, Casey growled angrily and threw a book across the room making it thud into the wall and drop to the floor.
Donya stood up from the table as she put her plate in the sink as Ari left the kitchen and went off to find Joel, Donya washed up her plate to be left alone with her own thoughts as she gasped softly as visions swam through her head, of a demonic force raising up with a blazing red sword in its hands, she let out a cry of alarm and staggered back before shaking her head to clear the visions. Beads of sweat dripped from her forehead as her hands felt clammy, she ran the cold water of the faucet and splashed water onto her face her nerves feeling as though they were on edge. A disembodied voice seemed to reverberate through her head as it said “Soon….soon you will be within my grasp again….and this time….I will end your life and this time……you will never come back” the voice let out a deep evil laugh as it dissipated and Pardi’nae rushed into the room and knelt beside Donya who had slid onto the floor whimpering.
Pardi’nae purred softly, the reverberation going through Donya soothing her as Pardi’nae spoke in her feline voice “What happened Donya? What did you see?” Donya shook her head not wanting to say, Pardi’nae lifted up Donya’s chin slowly seeing her bloodshot eyes as she said lightly “You can trust me….your among friends here” Donya took in a few gulps of air before saying in a soft trembling voice “I heard….I heard a voice…it said it was…..it said it was going to end my life….and this time make sure I stayed dead” she then burst into tears her sobs wracking her body as Pardi’nae rocked her back and forth in her arms comforting her.
High above the cityscape, standing as a lone figure on a mountainside looking down was the tracker known only as Ares Blaze, a terrifying vampire, who had the right half of his face disfigured and scarred from having acid thrown in it….he’d killed the person that had done it of course, and then collected on the bounty that was on the demons head, his blood red cloak billowed out behind him as he grunted softly smelling the air before muttering softly in a deep rough Irish accent “Now I have you girl, you wont escape me this time” with a deep growl he flitted down the path from the mountain and into the city.
The people of the city went about their business, they knew that for the time being they were safe from the oncoming Armageddon that would sweep through the world again, and maybe to another universe, for this was a dangerous battle to be fought, the history books told of the first great War fought high up in the wilds of Abaernase, the air was palpable with the scent of impending doom. Ares slid past the crowds, a few people shouting at him crossly for bumping into them, he merely gave them one glance and they shrank back as if in fear, he chuckled softly, fear was good, fear let them know that if they made a wrong move he would kill them instantly.
Donya bolted upright, a wave of fear washing over her as she turned to Pardi’nae and said softly “He’s coming for me, the one that I have been trying to evade, he’s finally found me” Pardi’nae looked at her and replied in her feline purr “Whose after you Donya?” Donya shook her head trying to clear her memory as she said softly “A hunter called Ares Blaze, I always wondered what he wanted with me, now I guess I know….he wants to kill me so the world can fall to evil and Darkness” suddenly a strong sense of purpose washed over Donya as she gasped softly her skin beginning to glow a pure brilliant white making Pardi’nae stumble back shielding her eyes.
A soft lilting ethereal voice seemed to come from above Donya as it spoke softly “My child, you are on your way to fulfilling your purpose, keep on this road and do not give in, you will find the answers you seek as you continue travelling, and one day…..we will see each other again” the voice fizzled out as Donya rubbed her eyes and looked down at herself gasping as she was now garbed in a black cami showing off her toned stomach, a pair of black jeans with chains hanging from them, and a pair of knee length black leather boots, she also had on a red leather jacket, attached to her waist was the sword she wielded so many moons ago, she finally knew she had a purpose as she tied her hair back into a ponytail and went to find her sister.
Blaze lifted his head and hissed in anger, he sensed that the girl had unlocked some more of her power, he knew his Master wouldn’t be happy, he unbuckled a cell phone that was clipped to his belt and dialled a number before speaking into the receiver, a few minutes passed as he flipped it shut and sighed softly rubbing his eyes. He knew he’d have to infiltrate the base and find the girl and try and end her life quickly he sniffed the air catching the girls scent and followed it.
Casey looked around as she heard the sound of footsteps making their way towards her, she saw her sister, she had to do a double take not quite sure what she was seeing as Donya looked at her with a grim look of determination spread across her face as she pulled on a pair of black leather gloves. Casey raised an eyebrow quizzically but Donya cut her off before she could ask any questions saying hurriedly “I need to go outside, I need to face the Hunter that’s after me, he’s near I can feel it” Casey didn’t look convinced but nodded her head as she walked with her sister towards a heavy red fire door and punched some numbers into the keypad as it slid open slowly allowing Donya to slip out into the alleyway.
Donya looked around feeling her body crackle with power and a new found sense of confidence, she quickened her pace down the alleyway as suddenly a cloaked figure dropped down in front of her and snarled viciously, Blaze glared at the girl baring his fangs as he hissed in a deep guttural voice “You should not still be alive girl, you should have wished for death centuries ago” Donya let out a soft chuckle as she drew a deep blue bladed sword from her scabbard hanging at her waist. Blaze hissed, knowing the sword….for it was the sword from the first great war….her sword….it was called Deranas Voltur….in Ancient Vampiric it meant “Soul Shatterer” Donya and Blaze stared at each other for a while each studying the other looking for signs of weakness, he moved slowly towards Donya drawing his two daggers, their blades were a deep crimson red, he stabbed at Donya making her dodge as the daggers seemed to hiss through the air, Donya spun around behind him and kicked him in the back sending him flying through the air and crumpling into a heap on the floor.
Blaze got up to his feet slowly his eyes turning a jet black as he threw a fire ball at Donya making her leap to the side as it flew through the air and exploded in the side of a car sending it catapulting up into the air making everyone scream in fear, he cursed silently as Donya threw a lightning bolt at him he dodged but not quickly enough as it caught him on the left side of his face making him howl in pain as he knew he wouldn’t be able to defeat her now. He looked around and then pulled out a shuriken from a pouch on his belt and sending it hurtling towards Donya making her dodge as he made his escape leaping up onto the top of a building.
Donya growled softly as she slid her sword back into it’s scabbard, she picked up the shuriken and slid it into the pocket of her jeans, running out of the alleyway to see if anyone needed her help, meanwhile Blaze leapt from building to building as suddenly a cold wind blew knocking him off of his feet as his Patron appeared in front of him in a fog like form, the voice rumbled “You have failed me Ares, I saved you from the deepest pits of the Underworld to have you aid me in my desires and my conquest, the girl cannot be allowed to grow to her full potential…and she cannot be allowed to find the Pendant, if she does…she will be unstoppable” Blaze shivered and nodded his head replying “I am sorry Mistress, it will not happen again” the figure of the woman nodded her head before disappearing.
Blaze looked around and shuddered inwardly shaking his head muttering “Sheesh….if she’s like that in a spirit form….I’d hate to see her power in her actual form” he then begun to run along the path in the forest knowing he should recuperate his strength ready for the next battle with the girl he knew he was destined to fight again. He sighed softly aggravated with himself that she should have bested him and so quickly he punched a tree making it crack and creak with the ferocity of the strike as he quickened his pace heading deeper into the forest.
Meanwhile Donya headed back to the base when she felt a light breeze brush against her, she turned around trying to see where it had come from as she heard a name whispered on the breeze “You must find Aqua, she is your next port of call, she will teach you more of your past” the voice disappeared as quickly as it had come as she sighed softly rubbing her forehead. Casey ran out to meet her sister and took her in her arms as she studied her face and said softly “Are you alright Donya?” Donya nodded her head softly and said “I uhh…..heard a voice…..it said we needed to find Aqua….does that mean anything to you?” Casey looked shocked as she replied “Aye, she was one of your lieutenants…..but she went missing years ago…but we shall find her” Donya nodded and headed through the door heading to the room that Ari had prepared for her whilst she stayed there.
She went over to a bookcase that was in her room and looked through the books before pulling one out, it was about the war that she could no longer remember, she sat down on the bed and sighed softly wishing that she could, she ran a hand over the pictures, flickers of recognition in her eyes looking at the various allies that had fought by her side, she felt tears stinging at the corners of her eyes as she threw the book onto the floor. A soft knock came at her door as she wiped the tears from her eyes with the back of her hand as she said softly “Come in” the door opened slowly and Joel came into the room and smiled softly at her before saying in a kindly voice “Are you alright Donya? I know this must all be a big shock for you….considering you now seem to have regained some of your memories” Donya nodded her head not trusting herself to speak yet knowing her voice might quaver.
Joel smiled softly at her as Ari came bounding to the door and gave Joel a peck on the cheek as she said softly to him “Casey wants you, she needs your assistance with something love” she traced her fingernails down his neck softly as he nodded to Donya as they both left the room leaving Donya on her own as she collapsed back onto the bed. She closed her eyes softly letting her mind wander as she had flashes of the man she once loved in the past, but who was killed by Antonius, she gasped softly, a memory floating through her head of child that she bore.
She sat bolt upright and rubbed her head softly muttering “Damn, what do I need to do…..I know I need to go and find this Aqua girl but I don’t know where to look” she sighed in exasperation and leant her head against the cool window humming a song softly to herself as she heard the sounds of waves crashing onto a beach, she then saw the vision of a young girl racing through the surf laughing as she was chased by a big lion type creature, but it looked strange, as though it was changing it’s shape, the young girl looked straight at Donya and said “Come and find me Donya, I am waiting for you my lady” her laugh echoed as Donya was thrown back into her body and she staggered backwards resting her hand on the bed as she panted heavily.
She shook her head clearing her vision as she said softly to herself “Well….that was new….so that must have been Aqua…now all I have to do is figure out where the hell she is” she shook herself mentally as she spun around and flung open the door to her room and went to find Casey or someone who could help her. Ari and Joel were ensconced in each others arms as Ari kissed Joel lovingly before seeing Donya coming into the room, she looked towards the young girl and said “Hey Don…..what’s wrong?” Donya shook her head and replied “Well I’m not really one hundred percent sure, I think I saw Aqua in a vision, she spoke to me and said she was waiting for me….the only problem is I have no idea where she is?” Ari and Joel nodded their heads as Ari leant back against Joel’s chest both of them lost deep in thought.
Ari then let out a cry of glee as she turned to Donya saying quickly “I think I know where she is, I think when you disappeared after the first great war, she went away to live on a deserted island, I think it’s called Avaran Isle….I’m sure if we looked it up on a map or something we could find it and then create a portal to head there” she clapped her hands together excitedly as she leapt up off of Joel and raced past all the others heading for the library followed closely behind by Joel and Donya.
Ari led the way into the library, it was the biggest library Donya had ever seen, she let out a small gasp as Ari turned to her and let out a crooked smile saying softly “It is huge….always bigger on the inside” she skipped along the shelves as Joel walked beside Donya, he didn’t say anything just let her take in the library as he then said in his soft voice “Pretty impressive huh, there are several floors, it goes downwards into the catacombs of our main base, we have a teleported linked to the library from all our bases so no matter where we are we can always come and check up on things” Donya nodded her head as he eyes browsed the various books and old tomes only half paying attention to what Joel was saying.
Ari meanwhile browsed through some old map books to try and find the location of Avaran Isle, she bit her lip concentrating, she drummed her fingers on the desk flicking through page after page, she sighed softly as Joel came over to her and rubbed her shoulders saying softly “Having any luck love?” Ari shook her head as she turned to look up at Joel and kissed his throat softly nuzzling him lightly. Joel chuckled softly as he kissed the top of her head sliding into a chair beside her and picked up one of the map books and flicked through it, suddenly Ari let out a squeal of excitement, something Donya thought would be impossible as she ran towards Ari and said quickly “What’s wrong? Have you found it?” Ari nodded her head replying “Aye, it’s in the North Aparana Sea, just off the coast of New Crelend” Joel let out a deep grunt as Donya turned towards him looking at him quizzically as he replied “The North Aparana Sea is notoriously difficult and treacherous, everyone who has tried to reach Avaran isle has been lost” Donya sunk down into a red chair and rubbed her temples letting out a sigh of exasperation.
Donya looked from Joel to Ari before saying in a strong voice “We shall go to Avaran Isle, it’s where Aqua is located, and I need to get all of my old army back together before I can even think about taking on Antonius and his minions. Neither of you have to come if you don’t want to, but I am and I will find Aqua and bring her back to where she belongs” Joel interlocked his fingers and rested his head on top of them studying Donya before replying in a soft and even voice “I am with you….as I am sure Ari is, we just want you to know how difficult this is, if Aqua doesn’t want to be found then she wont be” Donya nodded her head in agreement as she turned to Ari who merely shrugged and chewed at one of her nails.
Donya stood up and glanced at all the books reminding herself to make time to read them at a later date as she headed towards the door of the library and she left it leaving Ari and Joel on their own, Joel glanced at Ari and let out a small grin as he picked her up and laid her down on the table kissing her down her throat as he squeezed and fondled her breasts lightly before kissing her deeply and roughly as Ari let out a soft moan of pleasure rubbing her knee against his groin. Ari looked into his eyes as a small bolt of electricity seemed to pass between them as Joel stroked the side of her face softly and kissed her lips tenderly.
Meanwhile Donya walked along the corridors hurrying to find Casey so she could divulge her plan, she looked in various rooms and then found Casey, she was on the phone with someone, she raised her hand in a hello gesture to Donya and motioned for her to sit down as she said goodbye to the person on the other end of the phone before looking at her sister saying “So….what’s going on Don?” Donya looked at her sister, their gazes meeting as she replied “I’m going to find Aqua, she’s on Avaran Isle, I’ll go alone if I have to, but she needs to be with us, if she is as important as you say she is” Casey steepled her fingers and fixed Donya with an unreadable gaze before replying “Aye she is, and you cannot go alone, your far to important to the cause to be lost again. Ari, Joel and myself will accompany you” Donya nodded her head as Casey stood up and walked with Donya out of the room going to find Joel and Ari so they could get packed and ready to leave.
Donya entered her room and looked around it wishing she could have stayed here for longer, but knowing that going to find Aqua was more important, and she knew deep down in her heart that Aqua would have more answers for her. She slid her two jade coloured daggers into the back loops of her trousers as she slid on the long black trench coat she had found in the wardrobe, she checked on her appearance as she finished off packing her backpack sliding it over one shoulder leaving the room and closing the door on this part of her story.
Casey, Ari and Joel were waiting for her in a room that Donya hadn’t been into before, in one corner of it stood a huge square mirror, which seemed to take up half of the side of the wall, around the gold framed edge of it there was some writing in Vampiric, she crossed towards the mirror running her hands over the raised letters as she muttered to herself “To Those who use this mirror, beware the power, for thou art foolish and unwise, Unless thy knows the power that lays within me” Casey shifted uneasily on her feet as Donya turned to face the three of them and said sombrely “So, are we all ready to find Aqua?” the three nodded their heads as Donya looked at the mirror and without knowing where the words were coming from “Psy To Lee Ma no Da so RANOCK” the mirror suddenly exploded inwards showing an island, with waves crashing onto the sandy beach, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, Donya looked backwards and smiled at her companions as she stepped into the portal being transported to the Isle.
As soon as they transported onto the island, birds squawked in a cacophonous racket as though they were alerting someone to intruders on the Isle, the quartet all looked around uneasily as Donya rested a hand on one of her daggers, suddenly the leaves rustled and out bounded a griffin like creature, with deadly looking talons, and huge eagle like wings and a wickedly curved sharp beak. Casey hissed at the creature and drew her scimitar jabbing it forward at the creature who looked at her with disdain as Donya stepped towards the beast and spoke in Vampyric to it “See la, Donya. Treas Me Seelath Ondoon” the Griffin looked at her and bowed it’s head to her as it turned around and bounded away.
Casey moved over to her sister and said softly “Uhhh…..what exactly did you say to it?” Donya laughed softly replying “I merely said that I was Donya, and that I sought an Audience with the creatures Mistress, for it has long been known that Aqua had a Griffin, she had one during the first great war, whether it is the same one or not I don’t have any idea” Casey let out a soft laugh and hugged her sister. Meanwhile, deep in the forest of the Isle, in a simple well cared for hut, lived Aqua Rivers, whose mother was a water nymph and her father was an elf she heard the discordance that had echoed from the beach and smiled knowing that Canis would sort out any intruders who had dared cross onto her Island.
She head the heavy footsteps of Canis as he padded into her hut, he looked up at his Mistress and spoke into her mind saying in a disjointed voice “Mistress…..Visitors…..one said they were……called Donya…she wishes…..to speak with you…..” Aqua raised her eyebrows in surprise and stood up slowly brushing the crumbs from her long flowing aquamarine coloured dress as she motioned for Canis to lead the way. Donya was sitting on the beach underneath a palm tree as Casey, Ari and Joel were by the sea looking out into it as the waves crashed softly onto the beach, Donya stood up slowly hearing a sound as the other three started moving towards her but Donya put a hand up saying it would be fine as Canis padded out from the brush followed closely behind by Aqua who stared with some shock at Donya before hugging her tightly full of warmth and friendship as Donya chuckled softly saying into her ear “It’s good to see you again old friend, much has been happening whilst I have been…away” Aqua pulled away from Donya studying her before replying in a soft flowing voice “Aye my lady it has, but it is truly good to see you again, when Canis told me it was you I could scarcely believe it and thought that perhaps he had got it wrong” Canis padded over to Donya and nipped her hand lightly and looked up at her with baleful golden eyes.
Aqua then looked towards the beach and saw Ari, Casey and Joel and ran towards them and hugged them all her dress billowing in the light breeze as she spoke excitedly to all of them, before turning slowly towards Donya saying in a slightly more serious tone “Your going to fight again aren’t you My Lady?” Donya nodded her head solemnly replying “Aye, we are, we are building up the army again to hopefully put a stop to Antonius’ evil once and for all” Aqua chewed her lip and motioned for them all to follow her, Donya walked beside Aqua chatting with her as Aqua filled her in on what she had been doing since the last great war.
Ari leaned her head on Joel’s shoulder as they walked, he wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed the top of her head saying softly “So, are you glad you decided to come and fight with us love….or do you wish you had stayed with Antonius?” Ari let out a soft laugh before replying “No love….I am glad I finally made the right decision and chose to be with Donya and the Light, for it has made me be with you….an Angel and a Devil together, I doubt anyone would have seen that coming” Joel let out a laugh and held her close to him as they carried on walking down the grassy path towards Aqua’s hut.
Canis padded his way past the curtain that was Aqua’s door as Aqua pulled the curtain back letting her friends head inside first before following in after them, they all sat cross-legged on the floor as Aqua sat down and looked at each of them before saying “I consider you all my friends, and most of all you my Lady….you freed me from a life of slavery and subservience to Antonius, and for that I will always be eternally grateful to you…and I will come and join with you again to defeat Antonius, but….how can you be so sure that this time we will defeat him” Donya nodded her head before looking around at each of her allies replying in a mystical voice which seemed to be filled with power “I know that we can defeat him this time, because we have all grown….we are all stronger then we once were…I feel a connection with all of you….and I know that this time we can beat Antonius and finally end the evil that threatens this land…and I will not stop until he is defeated” Aqua smiled at Donya and took her hand and squeezed it and nodded her head slowly giving her consent that she would help and join the new army to battle against Antonius.
Many hours later, when the moon was fighting through the clouds to bring light onto the Isle Ari, Joel and Casey slept soundly, whilst Donya was sitting beside the hut looking up at the sky seeing the stars twinkling in the sky, she was soundlessly joined by Aqua who sat beside her as Canis padded towards them and rested his head on Aqua’s thigh letting out a soft snort as he closed his eyes. Aqua turned towards Donya and said softly “I know you probably have many questions….some I may be able to answer….but some are still lost in the mists and will take time to be answered” Donya sighed softly and nodded her head slowly as she rubbed the corners of her eyes.
Aqua stood up slowly and held a hand out to Donya saying “Your tired, you should get some rest, I’m guessing we wont have much time for sleep soon….once everything begins again, I hear whispers from various places, the tides are moving, the Darkness is sweeping again….we need to do all we can to prepare” Donya nodded slowly and followed Aqua into the hut where she settled down on the floor pulling her jacket over her feeling slightly chilly as she drifted into a fitful sleep. Meanwhile Aqua turned to Canis and said softly “We will soon be going once again into the Lion’s den my old friend….watch over Donya….she is still not fully herself and will need all of your protection” Canis nodded his head slowly settled on the ground outside the hut as Aqua headed into the hut to her bed.
The wind blew through the trees, the birds chirped as the sun began to move high up into the sky, Donya awoke slowly rubbing the sleep from her eyes as she threw her jacket off of her and stood up stretching slowly as she looked around noticing she was on her own, she headed out of the hut and followed the sounds of laughter, she made her way onto the beach and saw her friends in the sea laughing and splashing water at each other, she then felt a chill blow through her body as the scene suddenly changed, the sea turned blood red, the sky became black as lightning flashed, the tree’s were picked up and thrown towards the sea, her friends screamed in panic as the lightning struck them and they exploded….Donya screamed and sat bolt upright as Casey ran to her side and held her in his arms calming her down, sobs wracked through Donya’s body as tears flowed down her face.
Aqua bounded from her bed and knelt beside Donya and stroked the side of her face saying softly and calmingly to her “Peace My Lady, you are safe….you are with friends….what did you see?” Donya shook her head trying to free herself from the memories as she replied “I saw…..I saw bloodshed, I saw you all dying…..I saw the sea turn red with blood….it was horrible” Aqua went over to a cabinet and poured Donya a glass of water and handed it to her, Donya drunk greedily the memories of her dream slowly fading from her memory.
Donya laid down against the pillow as she looked up at the ceiling, Casey and Aqua went outside as Aqua said “Her powers are returning to her, what she has seen….may well come to pass….that is what will happen if we fail against Antonius again, the rivers, the lakes, the sea will turn red with the blood of millions upon millions of innocent people dying and us along with them” Casey ran a hand through her hair and sighed as she looked up at the sun which had just begun to appear.
Donya awoke again after a few hours and sighed softly as she stood up running a hand through her hair as she left the hut and saw Canis still sitting by it, she stroked the griffin’s fur softly as he padded beside her as she went exploring, and she came across a small little river, she stripped herself slowly to her underwear and stepped into the river, letting the cold water rush over her as she swam to the other side of the lake and let all the grime and dirt wash off of her body.
After a few minutes she swam back to where her clothes were and lifted herself out of the water letting the sun dry off her soaking body as she shivered slightly from the cold, Canis came towards her and nuzzles her hip making Donya laugh softly as she stroked him behind the ears and then got herself dressed again and headed back towards the hut. As she entered the hut the smell of food hit her and she found herself salivating as Aqua smiled handing her a plate of food as she dug into it hungrily feeling herself becoming warmed up inside. Donya looked at Aqua and said softly “Where are the others?” Aqua replied softly sitting down beside her “They have gone exploring, this Isle has a lot of things that even I haven’t found yet, but don’t worry, they are safe….nothing on this Isle can harm them…and even if they do find something I’m sure they will be able to handle it they are all tough” Donya nodded slowly as she finished her food and sat her plate aside and sipped some water from the wooden cup.
Ari, Joel and Casey were walking through the forest, the bird calls echoed over head, as various animals skittered around them on the forest floor, Casey looked around closing her eyes as she led the way down a pathway and found a cave, she looked inside it and saw runes which seemed to be of Angelic design, she gasped softly running her hands over them as she saw flashes of angels from centuries ago, she looked at her friends as they headed back towards the hut.
As Casey, Ari and Joel entered Donya’s head immediately came up as a look of concern crossed her face as she noticed Casey looking pale, Casey smiled at her sister before saying “Peace sister, I am fine….I just found a cave with some runes in…..they are of Angelic design, they are echoes and memories from the past, when you feel up to it I will show them to you” Donya nodded as she rose to her feet saying “I am ready now, I want to see our heritage….I want to know what happened to our people” Casey rubbed her arms in worry before nodding and leading Donya to the cave where the runes were.
As Donya rested her hands on the rune, flashes of the past broke into her mind, she saw the final fall of the Angellis the proud race of Angels from a far away time and far away planet, she saw them being corrupted by a tyrant…..not Antonius, but someone different, she saw flashes of a young female angel being torment and tortured, she pulled her hands away from the runes panting heavily as she looked at Casey who nodded as they headed back to the hut to talk about what they had both seen.
